Itinerary
Day 1: Muscat - Selmah Plateau - Wahiba Sands

Guests will be met by KHOT representative in the main lobby of the Hotel after their early breakfast, they will then make their way to their cars where they will get a safety briefing before being introduced to their vehicles. The group will move as a convoy with 01 Lead 4WD in the front and expert driver with 4WD in the middle and a sweeper 4WD .0830
Depart the Hotel and make their way through Wadi Mayh, down the coast line and eventually starting their climb up Selma plateau a untouched section of the Easter Hajar mountains, where we eventually stop at around 1,800m
by some ancient tombs that date back to 3000 BC where guests will have a light fantastic picnic lunch by the beehive tombs. The guests will be accompanied by a local Geologist who will rotate through the cars and give them small talks throughout the day when they stop for coffee and lunch on Oman’s vast geology.1230-1400 -Lunch

After lunch, guests drive down plateau and make their way towards the Wahiba desert winding through wadis before getting to their accommodation for the night at Camp in Desert . Today the drive is nice and easy just getting everyone accustomed to their cars whereas tomorrow the real desert crossing begins.17:00
Guests arrive at their camp in time to enjoy a lovely sunset while having a refreshing beverage on top of the dunes guests may then take a moment to relax, check into their rooms and refresh themselves..19:30
Arabic themed buffet dinner awaits them which is accompanied by the relaxing sounds of a local Oud player.21:00
A local astronomer will give a short talk to the guests while lying on some pillows and rugs in the desert sand away from any ambient lighting, he will give them an insight into the night sky and talk a bit about the mythology as well as how the Bedouins navigated with the stars.Overnight in Wahiba Sands
Day 2: Wahiba Sands - Ras Khalouf

For those wanting to get up early and have a 1 hour camel ride over sunrise now is the time and we will need to have sign ups for this in advance0730-0830
Buffet breakfast is served0830
Briefing on 4×4 sand driving by our expert who will be guiding the group and hopping from car to car throughout the day to advise and encourage their driving, while a local bedouin will be leading the convoy through the desert.0900
Depart out camp in 4×4, we will stop en route at a local bedouin home for a standard Omani greeting of coffee and dates and if we are lucky to try some fresh Omani camel milk. After our pit stop we carry on making our way through the desert only stopping to swap drivers now and then.1230-1330
We are met again by our lunch team who will have a fabulous picnic lunch set up mid way on our journey through the desert.14:00
Once we have finished our lunch we drive the last 3 hours through the desert followed by a local town called Mahout and then the final 80km stretch over the salt planes of Ras Bintaw.17:00
Arrival in time for sunset followed by welcome drinks in your home for the night a luxury private tented camp just built for the guests in a very isolated area of Oman right on the sea. Home to lots of wild life, ranging from birds, turtles and rays. With some time to relax and soak in the area while we still have some light remaining or take a well deserved shower under the stars.19:30

Day 3: Ras Khalouf - Al Ashkharah - Muscat

We slowly make our way out of the salt flats and up the coastal road of Oman a scenic drive.12:30-14:00

Arrival in Muscat Airport for the onward flight
